Here’s another painting of the Suspension Bridge. This piece was done back in late 2012 and the photo here was captured from the a show in The Mt. Adams Art Walk at a local wine bar.
Suspension Bridge | 18″ x 24″ acrylic on canvas
by Jeff Johns.
Was out last night taking photos of the beautiful Cincinnati skyline with an effort to try and figure out the reference visual for the next painting. These shots were taken from across the Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky. These photos turned out pretty nice, but I’m not totally sold on one of these as the next painting.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos of the Cincinnati Skyline.
Here’s another painting of the Cincinnati Skyline titled, Under the Suspension Two, you can view the higher quality image here if you like.
This Cincinnati Skyline painting was inspired by some photos I captured while out on my boat enjoying Friday fireworks during a Red’s game. The dramatic perspective brings a unique edge to this piece making it truly one of my favorites. Looking forward to rocking another painting like this one in an even larger size. Stay tuned.

With an art show right around the corner for JJCD Collaborations™ it’s nice to make some promotional material to hand out. Here’s a composite of the cards for the Cincinnati Exhilaration gallery exhibit for the month of August. Enjoy!
Here’s the latest painting by JJCD Collaborations™ That’s Jeff Johns and Colin Daugherty teamed up on this Cincinnati skyline painting titled, Under the Suspension Two. This is the second painting using the reference photography from Johns. Stay tuned for the progression on this commissioned painting.
Don’t you just love sunflowers? Here are some beautiful ones at the Blooms and Berries in Loveland, Ohio. Great way to spend part of this amazing day.

Look at this big beetle, just chilling on the screen looking at all the art. I bet he’s a painter himself.

There was a Stag Beetle at my studio last night, I didn’t know what it was at first, but after taking photos of it with my iPhone and sharing it through social media, people identified it as a Stag Beetle, and sure enough they were right.
This particular beetle appears to be a common male Stag Beetle, also called a “Pinching Bug,” which is one of the largest beetles found in Kentucky. This not so little guy was every bit of 60mm in length. Glad he was able to swing by the studio last night and check out some work. Hope to see him again soon.
Ever since moving to the country and being surrounded by the beauty of these horses everyday, Jeff Johns knew it was time to start painting them. Johns’ first painting in this equestrian inspired series titled, Beautiful Horse in Union, Kentucky, captures a special horse right off Big Bone Road in Union, Kentucky. While the entire series will be of nature and likely quite a few horses from Union, Kentucky, he’ll have to figure out how to name the future paintings.
The painting, Beautiful Horse in Union, Kentucky is a 20” x 24” acrylic on canvas, gallery wrapped and ready to hang. Should be finished early August 2013. If you have any interest in this painting, or any others, call Jeff Johns today, 859.630.9657
This painting has been sold for $300.
