Excited to share final capture of this painting of the Cincinnati Skyline with the view from Devou Park. After spending much of my youth taking this view in I was excited that we got a commission request to paint this vantage point. This painting captures the panoramic view of both Covington Kentucky featuring the Radisson building along with all the iconic structures of the Queen City.
I have to say we’re thrilled with the outcome of this painting and can’t wait to deliver it to our client later this week. One fun fact about this painting is that the moment it was shared on social media we had a request for another commissioned painting just like it. So stay tuned for the next one!

Giving the gift of art is always amazing! Here’s a photo of the proud recipient of one of our latest commissioned paintings titled, The Roebling Bridge | A Kentucky Perspective #JJCD#JeffJohns#ColinDaugherty
Excited to share that this painting of the Roebling Bridge is now complete. This reference image was capture the day before the bridge shut down for nearly three months. Now that the bridge is back up and running we figured we’d complete the painting. Also note that this is the first painting that we’ve rocked that incorporates the SkyWheel.
Who’s up for a challenge? We are…Ha! That’s for sure as we gear up to paint this amazing view of Cincinnati that I personally grew up with. Here’s the reference visual for the next commission painting, titled, View from Devou Park | Cincinnati. And yep, it’ll be in black and white.
Black and white paintings, are they easier? Well you don’t have to mix all the different colors, however the hard part is getting the shades of grey to separate.
Stay tuned for progress on this painting that’ll be titled, View from Devou Park, Cincinnati Skyline | 30″ X 48″ acrylic on canvas by Jeff Johns and Colin Daugherty
Excited to share the final capture of this painting of one of the most amazing wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. After being invited to speak at recent conference by CEF (Creative Education Foundation and CPSI (Creative Problem Solving Institute) I was asked if I had a painting I could donate to the event. Since our portfolio is mainly Cincinnati inspired artwork and current inventory is of that it was apparent that this event in Buffalo New York would need a new piece of art. With a passion to paint local landmarks as inspiration what would be better than the beautiful Niagara Falls. That’s the inspiration behind this vibrant painting.
Proud to say the piece sold for a significant amount working as a great fundraiser for this event.

This painting was donated to the CEF (Creative Education Foundation) with an effort to support this non profit organization and their efforts in funding CPSI (The Creative Problem Solving Institute) and up coming conferences.
Super excited to announce that this acrylic on canvas panting of the Roebling Bridge has now been sold.
After finishing this piece nearly five years ago, it’s appeared in a few gallery shows then due to it’s large size it spent most of the time in the studio as we enjoyed it while we worked on other paintings. Until about two months ago when Brad Wainscott owner of a new restaurant in Covington, Kentucky, Libby’s Southern Comfort reached out and asked if I had any artwork to display in his new space. After this painting of the Roebling Bridge proudly hung on the walls for just a round a month a woman came in for lunch and enjoyed some of the amazing goetta hushpuppies and also wanted this painting.
It’s always fun to see the final resting place of your artwork. Upon delivery of this painting I was able to help the owner up to their magnificent home overlooking the beautiful Cincinnati Skyline. It was like a dream come true to sit there and take in our beautiful city from the comfort of her home. Always inspired by the Cincinnati Skyline you can check out our entire portfolio of skyline paintings here.
This piece is rather large at 48″ x 90″ and took some time to complete and a fun history to it. Now notice all the texture in the background? There’s a story to that. This painting actually lived three lives. The first one it was the actual Frischs Big Boy holding his hand up, but instead of a burger he was holding the city of Cincinnati. Then decided to paint over that and we did the ivory towers of Procter and Gamble. It stayed like that for a while then we decided to paint the suspension bridge.

Here’s a few photos of the painting hanging at Libby’s Southern Comfort as well as a view from its new home. Enjoy!
Here’s one of the latest commission paintings we’ve been rocking. This painting in particular was commissioned by a local running enthusiast. If you haven’t heard of the Flying Pig Marathon it’s actually been around for over twenty years and is powered by P&G. To learn more about the marathon click here.
In this painting we really aimed to hero the pig over the beloved Covington Kentucky Skyline. A nice rendition of the skyline showcasing some renowned architecture in both the Ascent and the Roebling Bridge as in the foreground as the pig spreads its wings and soars over the other side of the Ohio River to Cincinnati.

Also featured in this painting is the Marriot River Center in Covington Kentucky as well as the Murals at the Covington Riverfront. You can read more about the Roebling Murals at the Covington Kentucky Waterfront here.
Here’s one last look at the mural for Delta Airlines. In this capture here I’ve focused on the heart of the painting and retouched out some of the outlets, thermostats, fire alarm devices and door opening objects from the piece. Just super thrilled with where the painting netted out and happy to have another capture of our beautiful city.
