Above the Roebling Bridge, Cincinnati

Here’s a look at one of my latest cityscapes. This here is an aerial capture of the beautiful Roebling Bridge leading right to the Cincinnati Skyline. Love all the color and energy in the center of the painting leading right to this amazing city.

Holy Hyacinth it’s the Roebling Bridge

Image

Here’s the final capture of one of my most current paintings of the Roebling Bridge from Cincinnati. This was inspired from a photo I captured after spending a beautiful day at Smale Park this past spring while all the beautiful Hyacinth flowers were in bloom. With all the color and beauty framing up one of the most iconic structures in our area I had to lay on the ground and capture the perspective. From there the paints hit canvas and the painting process started.

Hope you enjoy this painting of the amazing Roebling Bridge.

The Platinum Woman | 16″ x 40″ acrylic on canvas

Here’s a painting from back in 2011. I really like this painting, but have moved on from painting nudes so I’d love to get rid of it.

Unbound Hibiscus | 24″ x 36″ acrylic on canvas

Here’s another painting of the hibiscus. I title this Unbound Hibiscus due to the loose and abstract feel of the flower. This painting had a lot of energy at this point so I considered it complete.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Should I push it more? Make it more real?

A Collection of Cincinnati Skyline Paintings | 2013 and ealier

Just wanted to share a collection of Cincinnati skyline paintings that I’ve created, both alone and as a team. Jeff Johns and Colin Daugherty unite on canvas and are known as JJCD Collaborations™. This collection of paintings have been showcased in several galleries as well as displayed in the only Four Diamond Steakhouse in Cincinnati, The Celestial.

Currently, this posting doesn’t include the entire collection, but just wanted to get a collection to the top of my blog site so people could browse these paintings of the Cincinnati skyline. This is our favorite subject to paint, and there’s been a lot of interest from folks so we want to make the art even easier to find.

It breaks my Art. . .

I received a call from a Cincinnati Police officer this evening that the window display I’ve been showcasing my artwork in downtown Cincinnati was smashed this evening, September 10th 2013. I headed down to the scene around 8 pm and I’m just glad that nothing was actually stolen or damaged.

The word on the street is that it was a very tall woman who just happened to be naked and on a rampage. Pretty crazy the effect art can have on a person!
