Walnut Street, Cincinnati (in progress)

WalnutStreet

We love to paint the the city of Cincinnati. Generally if you check out our work most of our paintings focus on the skyline however, over the last few months we decided to get into the city and bring some street scenes to life.

The first city scene was a capture of OTR Cincinnati by Jeff Johns. You can view that painting here. After sharing this with the world it was sold instantly.

After a new client saw that piece they were inspired to capture a street in which they lived with a focus of the building they reside in. We then captured reference images of the street to provide a range of directions for final selection. Below you can check out the photography captured to inspire this painting. See if you can find the client select visual!

While this is just a start of the progress, it’s fun to share so you can see the painting come to life. Stay tuned as we’re looking forward to sharing the final painting in the near future.

Seems like painting where people dwell is really hot for us right now. We have three different ones on the easel and super excited about this one as we just finished it up.

Check out this painting of a beautiful ranch style home during the fall season. Can’t wait to deliver this to the new owner.

Fountain Square | Reference Visual

The next commission painting is going to be of Fountain Square in the heart of Cincinnati. My clients are looking for a black and white painting to display in their home.

20728216_10211672850234922_4800092079470206265_nIn order to get the right reference visual I spent many times down at the Fountain studying the light and capturing photos at different times of the day. What I quickly realized was that during early afternoon the sculpture casted dark shadows onto other detailed parts which would make it nearly impossible to see all the intricacies to inspire a painting. I then went down early morning and snapped a few. Here is lead image which will inspire the Fountain Square painting. Stay tuned.
