Here’s a Cincinnati abstraction style painting from a few years ago. This painting titled, Portrait of a Skyline, Cincinnati captures the true essence of the city and it’s vivid lights reflecting on the Ohio River.

Here’s another painting inspired by the beautiful Cincinnati Skyline. This 24″ x 36″ acrylic on canvas painting of the historic John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, titled Golden Evening Suspension. This painting showcases the strong foundation and vivid structure of this iconic Cincinnati landmark. The perspective for this piece is from Covington, Kentucky, so you’ll notice a small section of the Cincinnati skyline on the opposite side of the bridge.
At night, this bridge has the most beautiful gold color reflecting into the water and just bouncing from ripple to ripple. I don’t think I’ll ever stop painting this Cincinnati icon.
This particular painting is extra special to me. So special in fact, that 8 canvas prints were made of this piece so I could give them as gifts to the groomsmen in my wedding.

Great news! Just received a request for another commissioned painting of the beautiful Cincinnati skyline. The client knew exactly what they wanted, and as we began to talk the best way to truly bring to life their vision was to meet in front of the city and capture the idea. After a taking few photos, some smiles and a high five we quickly aligned on this reference visual to inspire the next Cincinnati painting.

Here’s where it all started. The first painting that Jeff Johns and Colin Daugherty teamed up on. This piece was done in late 2011 and recently sold this year. A true masterpiece this was, not only for the end result but for starting an ultra-unique creative collaboration united on canvas.

The final capture of the painting titled, Fountain + Carew,” by the duo of Cincinnati-based fine artists Jeff Johns and Colin Daugherty, who coined the name JJCD Collaborations™ since their first masterpiece of the Cincinnati skyline years ago. “We’ve really looked to capture a unique perspective of some of Cincinnati’s most iconic landmarks,” says Johns.

Was out last night taking photos of the beautiful Cincinnati skyline with an effort to try and figure out the reference visual for the next painting. These shots were taken from across the Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky. These photos turned out pretty nice, but I’m not totally sold on one of these as the next painting.
